Since I have been a child I was growing fruit and vegetables with my mother, collecting berries and mushrooms in the forests. So it was no surprise that I studied later at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna, alias the University of Sustainability. In fact I was hoping to solve the ecological predicament of mankind, changing the way we live and the relationship with our environment. Not an easy task at all, so I was the one always searching, especially in a number of disciplines hoping to get the big picture. Landscape planning, agricultural economics, biological engineering, Marketing and Innovation, Decision Theory and data science, philosophy, everything pretty much added something to the bigger picture, but the puzzle could not be completed. So I have been a student, a scientist, a traveler, a founder and entrepreneur and much more…
There was only one thing though that always felt right: Growing something, harvesting something, going out into nature and forests. From Barcelona to Bogota, i grew in pretty much every country something, often with very limited resources. At some point I decided to live in Berlin and after years of trying I finally got a small garden (Kleingarten); a place to grow my food.
Covid-19 basically closed my sustainable Catering company I successfully built for years. This garden not only helped me to be emotionally stable in these difficult times, even more so I really enjoyed the time there, most of the time with my daughter.
While having a lot of time to think, things where coming together, and here I want to communicate that. I feel it is an important piece of the bigger puzzle to solve the ecological predicament of mankind
